Well hello there!
I am back with another review. I tend to talk a lot and therefore my reviews have been very very long 😀 So this time I have decided to keep it crisp and short. So let’s get started.
In one of my posts I reviewed L’Oreal White Perfect Face wash and I mentioned how it was my all-time favourite cleansers. This time I gave other drug-store face washes a chance. I always feel like picking up something from Neutrogena as their products have really classy packaging and having said L’Oreal is my favourite Drug store brand, I thought of trying some other range of theirs. I wear little makeup almost every day (kajal, Mascara, Liner, lipstick ), I picked up two cleansers which market themselves as makeup removing cleanser.
- Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
- L’Oreal Revitalift Radiant Smoothing Cream Cleanser
So let’s get the battle started.
What the product claims V/s what the product is really like
Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
Claim: – Fresh Foaming Cleanser is a cleanser and makeup remover in one. Removing makeup before you go to bed has never been easier. No more raccoon eyes! It rinses completely and won’t leave any pore-clogging residue. Forget the excuses and get refreshingly clean skin and complete makeup removal in one step. Soap-free, Oil-free, Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores), Hypoallergenic.
My Review: – It stands true to what it claims. It removes makeup so easily albeit not the waterproof mascaras. The texture is not very thick and is little runny and translucent. As it is a foaming cleanser it does not have that creamy feel to it. It removes every trace of makeup. It is oil free so it is of best use to people with oily skin. I have a little dry skin. After each use I feel my facial skin is totally oil free. So it does not like flake out my skin with dryness but yes I do feel the stretch on my skin after every cleanse. After 2 weeks of use I feel that my natural glow is stripping away and my skin has not shown any improvement. On the contrary it has become lifeless. All it does is cleanse and remove makeup. No added benefits. But Hey, I don’t complain here as that is what it’s supposed to do. It is reasonably priced at 399 INR for 200 ml pump bottle. Personally I like cleansers that are creamy as my skin is dry and I love the soft, plump feeling that they leave behind. 😀
Oily skin – Go ahead, use it as a makeup remover and your daily face wash.
Dry skin – Go ahead and use it as a makeup remover and not as your daily face wash.

L’Oreal Revitalift Radiant Smoothing Cream Cleanser
Claim: – Gently exfoliates. Nourishes skin. Boosts radiance. Removes every traces of makeup.
My Review: – Ok so it stands true to the first three claims i.e. exfoliates, nourishes and boosts radiance. But let me tell you it does not remove your stubborn makeup, although it works fine with light and everyday makeup. It has a medium thick cream like consistency and it comes in white colour. I love this one as a cleanser and not as a makeup remover. I am using it since 4 months now and almost finished the tube. I love how my skin feels soft and plumped up after every use. No dryness or anything like that. It does not strip away your natural glow and the skin feels healthy and radiant after each use. I am in love with L’Oreal face washes all over again. I am so happy I have found this new love.
The only and the biggest complain I have with this one is the packaging. Argh…Look at the photograph and you will know what I am saying. Another drawback on this one is availability as I personally got this from the US and in India it is imported which makes it expensive. It is available online for about 1000 INR for 150ml. In the US it is available for 6.5$ which roughly converts to the same price as of Neutrogena.
Oily Skin – NO NO
Dry Skin – A big YES. Go ahead and use it as a daily cleanser and not as a makeup remover.
