Today we will talk about the Chambor enriched revitalizing foundation. This was kind of my first drugstore foundation. I don’t remember when I bought it but it lasts for ages.
Product Claims – Well it claims a lot of things and sadly not standing up to what it markets.
“Ensures you keep glowing all day long and look luminous and younger, at the same time, concealing any flaws/imperfections. This moisture rich, light weight cream formula makes your skin feel softer and healthier. It contains Hop extract which helps restore skin’s firmness visually minimizes visible sign of ageing. It ensures a smooth, radiant and even complexion all day long. Fights free radicals thanks to Ginko Biloba Extract. Dermatologist tested. Longwear. SPF 18”
My thoughts – It comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser. It has a lotion like consistency and not a cream one. It gives a dewy finish which does not give a glow to the face instead makes my face look oily, giving medium coverage. I have dry skin and this foundation makes my skin look oily, so people with oily skin definitely stay away. It gets oily on the T zone within one hour 😦 I have pigmentation around mouth and recently I am dealing with acne marks on my face. It failed to conceal very dark spots, on the contrary it highlights those areas making them look grey. To deal with it, I had to use my orange based concealer from Mac to conceal and even out the skin tone. Another thing to keep in mind is, if the skin is not exfoliated enough before using this foundation then it will leave patchy and spots like finish on the skin. If not blended immediately it dries out fast leaving a draggy streaky feeling behind. It feels a little sticky on the face. I had a full bottle and didn’t wanted to throw it away so I somehow managed to work with it along with mac concealer, mac face and body, setting powder from Sephora and Maybelline and mac fix+ spray. So the foundation by itself is not enough and a lot of prep and prime is required.
So these are my before pictures.
This is my after picture.
In the below pictures I have used a konad foundation brush on half of my face to blend this foundation and a beauty blender on another half of my face to show how it works differently with applicators. On the konad brush side (1st picture) it gives that streaky finish (notice near mouth area) and on the beauty blender side (2nd picture) it gives a smooth evened out finish after a lot of blending but not completely covering the dark spots.
I am still not happy with the way this foundation looks on its own.In my look books I have used a lot of other products to work with this foundation and somehow managed to get that even canvas.
Ladies, give this one a miss.
