So the MAC product review series finally starts today 🙂
I heard all the time that MAC foundations are really good and there is a big difference in the way MAC foundations turn out on skin. I heard about the MAC studio fix foundation from makeup artists, so I went to the MAC store to check it out but violaaa…. didn’t suit me and then I was introduced to MAC Mineralize foundation. So let’s get straight on to the review.
Product Claims – The natural satin finish makes skin appear refined, refreshed and lit from within.
My Thoughts – This range comes in a whopping 18 shades (NC15, NC20, NC25, NC30, NC35, NC37, NC40, NC42, NC44, NC45, NC50, NW20, NW25, NW30, NW35, NW43, NW45 and NW50) which caters to pretty much every skin tone. And if you don’t find a perfect one for your skin just try mixing a one or two to create a perfect one.
It comes in a glass pump bottle which is quite heavy to carry anywhere. The pump makes sure that no product is wasted or leaked. Overall the packaging is sturdy but hey it’s glass so if you drop it then its gone.
Coming to the texture of this one. It is a liquid foundation so it has a runny consistency. It has a dewy finish which looks quite unnatural sometimes. so people with oily skin might want to stay away from this. I have combination skin and even after like 30-40 minutes of application, I don’t feel my makeup is set.
Couple of things to note here. Firstly this foundation contains SPF 15 so it might not be the best foundation to get photographed in. A white caste appears in flash photography. Secondly you might want to go a shade lighter as this foundation tends to oxidize and turn grey. In the below picture i have used MAC Mineralize foundation and the photograph is take with a mobile without flash.
Honestly, I loved this foundation at first but not anymore. Now that we have Sephora in Bangalore we have lots of other options, probably I will not buy it again. Recently I am loving the Lancome foundation which I will review soon.
Priced at 3500 INR for 30 ml.
Where to buy
MAC stores Only. Do not risk buying it online.
I have used the MAC Mineralize foundation in my stippling brush demo.
