Today I am going to review the much hyped L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Spa Shampoo. Off late my scalp had become oily and flaky and my hair had become dry. So I thought off getting a spa at the L’Oreal Professionnel salon. The salon lady used this L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Spa Detoxifying Shampoo for flakiness of my scalp followed by deep conditioning using the L’Oreal ABSOLUT Repair Lipidium masque. My hair became soft and my scalp was clean without any flakes. Happy with the results I bought this combo to use at home at times without having to visit the salon each time I wanted a squeaky clean detoxed scalp. So let’s get to business and review this product.
Name of the product – L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Spa Detoxifying Shampoo
Product Claims – Enriched with Tea Tree oil, anti-dandruff agents and cooling menthol, this detoxifying shampoo cleanses and frees your scalp from impurities – dandruff, excess oil, and odour. Your scalp is rebalanced for beautiful, supple and healthy hair.
My thoughts – The packaging of all L’Oreal professionnel shampoos come in a minty cylindrical plastic bottle with a silver flip top cap in the 200 ml size range. The plastic is sturdy and is of good quality. The cap is leak proof making it travel friendly. The nozzle dispenses right amount of product without wasting.
The shampoo is transparent and has a runny consistency as shown in the picture. It has a very fresh pleasant smell that stays long on my hair and keeps hair odour free.
The shampoo does not lather like a drug store shampoo but lathers enough to ensure cleaning of the scalp and hair. My hair type is dry and scalp is oily. When this shampoo works well for my scalp but made my dry hair super dry and frizzy. This works well when used along with the lipidum hair masque. But honestly I personally do not have that much time to apply masque every time I wash my hair. So this shampoo hasn’t worked for me. This shampoo will perfectly for people having oily flaky scalp and oily hair.
Overall, this is a nice shampoo for oily, limp, dull hair. It makes oily hair soft and shiny but not dry hair. So the claims as a detoxifying spa shampoo are true for oily hair not for people with dry hair. Ladies, go for it if you have flaky, oily scalp and hair.
This range has another variant called the L’Oreal Professionnel hair spa deep nourishing shampoo. Review coming soon…..
